N_1918_10_31_NOI_BushmanGeorge George J Bushman, a Gettysburg battlefield guide and transfer man, his body was found rolled in a blanket on the River Road above Harrisburg on October 17. His automobile was found. His murders are in the Harrisburg jail. Two young men of Gettysburg confessed to murdering him to get the large amount of money he was supposed to have on him, but the only got $5.80 and his automobile. Clarence Raymond Collins, age 20, and Charles Reinecker, age 18, are the murderers. Reinecker confessed that he shot Bushman with a gun that Collins gave him. The actual murder was commited near Carlisle, in Bushman's own car. The body was abandoned in Dauphin county, and the car (Hudson Super Six car) was attempeted to be sold in Philadelphia, and then placed in a garage. |
